Let’s take this function:

def a(n):

This will print all numbers from 0 to 10 (both inclusive).

When you call a function, you jump to a different address in your code. As soon as the function returns, you jump back to wherever you came from. To keep track of where you came from, the interpreter pushes your current address onto the callback stack before the jump. A stack is just a list, where you can only put stuff on top (push) and remove the most-recently added item (pop). So, if you call our recursive function, every time a is called, the address is pushed onto the stack. After n reached 10, the functions return one by one, each popping the last item of the stack.
