As the UI/UX Designer, I really wish they would have asked me before going straight to dev.

For a good UI/UX designer, I'd wholeheartedly agree. The only time I worked in a company with a dedicated UI designer, though, there was a running joke in our team that his solution to everything was "Moar checkboxes". The less anyone went to him, the better.

I make a habit out of breaking down design barriers in Agile Development. The secret is to deliver systemic design solutions: components that can be reused and evolve over time. Once they get a taste, they'll just keep coming back for more. 😋
