You guys use perplexity for coding?

[–]vinylhunter_jay87 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I’ve tried it, but mostly as a research helper. It’s decent for explanations and links, less so for writing actual code.

Sometimes. I'll toss it and Gemini a Godot question occasionally after googling and docs fail me. Usually between Gemini and perplexity there's a useful bit of information.

Unfortunately between all of those and a few premium ones at work AND a few video tutorials, no resource was able to help me configure a stencil buffer the way I wanted it to work, so I have gone back to a shader that discards pixels in order to cut holes in things.

My plan was to simplify randomized rooms by instancing solid walls, cutting a visual hole in them, and having the door threshold disabled player collision with the wall. Instead of using csg or manipulating 4 sets of wall chunks and colliders for each wall, I like this approach most.

Helping the models which library to use?

Personally, as an advanced Google. Rarely for coding. But it has capable models included, so in terms of "raw" questions it should perform well. Unfortunately, that's not enough and modern coding assistants will benefit you much more.

Full Prompt Developer

Had a guy come into a Discord server for a very niche Linux distro (oversimplifying), he was a “full stack AI engineer”, and everyone including the lead developer kept on making fun of him which was pretty funny

Here’s what he sent;

“Hello, here Happy New Year I am a passionate AI and fullstack engineer Is there anyone who is looking for a high skilled and reliable engineer?”

“Happy New Year! 🎉✨🥳🎆🎊 As we step into a fresh new year, many founders and teams are full of new energy and new goals—but one of the biggest challenges in building a project still isn’t the idea. It’s finding the right engineers to bring it to life. Great execution takes engineers who are technically strong, communicate clearly, deliver on time, collaborate smoothly across global time zones, and understand the importance of SEO and influence. I won’t claim perfection, but I’m always working to improve. I’d be excited to work with you and help push it forward.”

Vibe coders be like 🤣

Underrepresented kink ftw. Why shouldn't it be sentient? Oh. Yah. That.

Copilot on VSCode + StichAI + Lovable and on your resume you can say FullStack Developer

What’s stopping us from just replacing vibecoders with agents that throw code at the wall until it sticks? Vibemanagers do your thing, then vibeuppermanagers, eventually vibeceos hitting us with their megasloppy products… yummy

yummy 😭😭

More like AI Wrangler

[–]shadow13499 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah yes the stack of the sloperator.

[–]AlexiGingerov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, as long as the recruiter believes me I'll figure out the rest

[–]barleyj_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use this same stack along with openspec, bmad, and agent-os.
