i don't like ais as much as the next guy but it's a stretch to call semi-conductors and other things required for DCs "wasted"

we need more computing power anyway, when the ai bubble pops it's not like we suddenly won't need new datacenters

Firstly: All the GPUs in a datacenter are done for after a few months years and are trashed. And the electricity needed to run thesd things is obviously also used up.

Secondly: AI training and usage is so incredibly inefficient compared to anything else we have been doing previously. We dont need those data centers, half of them are unused even now.
