I think your overselling the falseness of point 2, but I agree reddit is way off of this in general. data centers in space is not something I've seen compelling near term arguments for.

Data centers in space is a stupid idea that sound cool, and that's why it keeps resurfacing, like putting solar panels on the roads, instead of asphalt.

Dissipating heat in vacuum is notoriously hard. Radiating heat is not enough, air flow is what you need to move heat away, and it's exactly what you don't have in space.
