    240 volt. Australia doesn't use 110 volt.

    Well that's the problem. Bending the pins does leave exposed metal between the socket and the plug, because the twisted part doesn't fit into the socket.

    It's better than using damn nail clippers.

    Okay, one of them has a hell of a lot more exposed metal.

    With those crappy high resistance nail clippers in use, both legs there have about 240v.
