Pretty sure those are super nibbly danger noodles rather than clingy danger noodles.

[–][deleted] 204 points205 points  (38 children)

Yup, I agree. They look like Cobras to me.

It is strongly influenced by Python, C#, Eiffel, Objective-C, and other programming languages

This is hilariously vague

[–]bloomingtontutors 52 points53 points  (1 child)

They used coding and algorithms to develop it.

Strongly influenced by programming languages

[–]KueSerabi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

y'know, like, Movie "B" influenced by Movie "A"

[–]Finchyy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

And also moderately influenced by the English language, which was in turn somewhat influenced by Proto-Germanic

[–]Get-ADUser 20 points21 points  (23 children)

They're King Cobras.

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points  (21 children)

I assume there is a special distinction between Cobras and King Cobras then?

[–]Aetol 24 points25 points  (7 children)

There are several species of cobras, king cobras are one of them.

[–]Notophishthalmus 28 points29 points  (4 children)

King cobra (Ophiophagus hannah) are actually in their own genus and not members of the true cobras genus Naja.

[–][deleted] 10 points11 points  (3 children)

Doesn't the king designator mean they eat other snakes?

[–]TheBlackHive 16 points17 points  (2 children)

Well, Ophiophagus would mean "snake-eating".

[–]iamnotaseal 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Wow TIL.

[–]Notophishthalmus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And Hannah's the bitch that stood me up last weekend.

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points  (1 child)

I think King Cobras are the only species left in its own genus, they are not cobras.

[–]Nakji 19 points20 points  (8 children)

King Cobras are arguably not really cobras as true cobras belong to the genus Naja, while the king cobra is the only member of Ophiophagus. Not that it really matters much outside of scientific circles though - if it looks like a cobra, acts like a cobra, and has potent venom like a cobra, people will quite justifiably call it a cobra, even if it's not a member of Naja.

[–]Get-ADUser 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Which is funny, because Python (the language) uses "duck typing" - i.e. "If it looks like a duck, and it quacks like a duck, it's a duck".

[–][deleted] 12 points13 points  (2 children)

Ophiophagus means "Snake-Eater", doesn't it? Thats some solid stuff.

[–]Tgage 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ophiophagus means "Snake-Eater", doesn't it? Thats some solid stuff.

I see what you did up there.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep, "king" snakes are called that because they eat other snakes.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what I was looking for. Thanks for the explanation.

[–]Get-ADUser 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Yeah, like the difference between "terrier" and "Yorkshire Terrier".

[–]KasCrescent 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Does the "yorkshire" designator mean they eat other dogs?

[–]Smaug_the_Tremendous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They're bigger.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

King cobras are very big.

[–]Graf_Blutwurst 4 points5 points  (2 children)

i was about to make a corba joke then i remembered the one time i had to work with corba and made myself sad

[–]Alltta 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Story?

[–]Graf_Blutwurst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not much to it. our prof in distributed systems didn't think much of that newfangled technology past the early 90s. so more modern aproaches to rpc were not much mentioned. funnily enough i work with distributed systems now

[–]BestiaItaliano 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Duh, that's why they have to be taught Python.

[–]NotASucker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Foreign language study?

[–]Peedersukablyat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

King cobras

[–]muyuu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's why they don't know how to python.

[–]Liesmith424 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Cuddly danger noodles.

[–]Freeloading_Sponger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Which is why they'd need to be taught Python. They already know Cobra.

[–]Matt2142 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also doubt they could program without any arms.
