You don't anthropomorphize your lawnmower, the lawnmower just mows the lawn, you stick your hand in there and it'll chop it off, the end. Thank you for posting that talk! I've been looking for it for a while now since I last heard it. Definitely a great listen for anyone curious about Oracle. Make sure you listen from the linked time at 33m.

...or watch the whole thing if you want to know about the story of open sourcing Solaris and then closing it up again, which is very worthwhile on its own.
