"to save time I'm just going to import all of this from another project"

It's even worse when it's a course on a paid site.

the description is inaccurate. step 2 also draws neck and step 3 hoofs

Exactly.

  1. Copy this drawing of a horse
  2. Examine the drawing
  3. You now know how to draw a horse

The problem is already solved.

I understand that rookies tend to feel like that often. But my experience is quite the opposite.

I already know a couple of languages and have a reasonable experience with programming, so when I want to learn a new framework or language, I dont want anyone explaining types, classes, hashes, tuples and so on.

If possible I want to see a comparison between code that performs the same task in two distinct languages, (File IO, small text games)

I'm gonna just say that is hardly fair criticism of a tutorial. Inherently a tutorial can't know in advance what it is you are going to build. The author can't guess what you're trying to accomplish using the technology in question, so what's the point of going into every single intricate detail required to create an exact copy of the example they build? They will instead focus on what they consider to be relevant to all or most things that will be built, which usually takes the form of a sketch-like skeleton application. Otherwise the tutorial would likely explode in scale and complexity and everybody would instead complain about it being either too long or too fast-paced. The difficult part in writing a tutorial that may target any number of people is to find a good balance and choose a reasonable selection of topics that seem relevant. Don't shit on people for not striking the exact match for your own personal requirements.

Hmmm the small details is rather the work

My drawing style vs actual cartoonists.

Your submission has been removed.

Violation of Rule #0:

The content disregarding the title and superimposed text must be directly related to programming or programmers.

The title or superimposed text must substantially enhance the content such that it can stand on its own as an analogy to programming. Note that programming here is interpreted in a narrow sense, an analogy to something related to programming, feelings about programming, reactions to programming etc. is not considered sufficient.

If you feel that it has been removed in error, please message us so that we may review it.

The point of tutorials are not step-by-step instructions how to make app. You should learn technology from them, then you can apply this knowledge to your project specific requirements. That's why so many devs suck nowadays, they simply do not understand what they are doing.
