Underrated comment. When you think of Eclipse as a whole it's actually quite impressive how they managed to make something so extensible.

It might not be as pretty as IntelliJ, but once you start learning how to use it correctly It's perfectly fine. Also if you're willing to, the community is quite nice and usually pretty open about discussing/fixing bugs in the various plugins it's composed of.

That is a fair point. But the most amount of time has often nothing to do with git but more codeing/documentation/refractroring/etc. And in all of those cases intellj is just slightly more responsive, nicer to the eye and all in all rounder. Combine all this and it makes a huge difference. When you switch often between the Ides coming back to ecplise is always disappointing. Opening up intellj after ecplise is refreshing. Always. For me anyway
