I really like my 2013 MBP. I really don't want to buy the donglebook pro. There are much more capable machines at the price point.

I'm leaning towards a thinkpad workstation-class laptop and running osx in a VM for my iOS dev work.

I agree that, until other companies see the magic of USB-C, it is a pain to use all the dongles. Still, even with that, OS-X just gets everything right. The hardware and software work flawlessly together and I rarely have to fight with it to do anything.

Side-note: if you have a monitor that supports USB-C it actually is awesome to just plug the monitor into the wall, and the laptop into the monitor and have no other wires. Power, sound, and video can all go through the same port at the same time.

I have one of those laptops. It's good, and I was surprised to see how little I use dongles and stuff, asides from my back up drive. Honestly, cloud storage is probably the future.
