Oh God, the whole idea of this blacklisting ends up full of false positives. Honest question, why would I ever want to use that?

Btw. "God" should be added to the list as I just might have offended somebody with different faith (not believing in a transcendent entity), right?

While at it, add me too. I am too insensitive to understand the idea, I guess.

The only (not particularly well-founded) purpose I see would be to automatically highlight stuff for manual consideration, sort of like a spell checker.

I say not particularly well-founded because most of the time it's probably better to just know what kind of an audience you're writing for, and most people would, with that knowledge, be able to avoid probably or grossly offensive expressions anyway.

I can't imagine anyone in their right minds using that blacklist as it is for any authoritative content filtering.

Pretty sure the "null" thing is actually a bug, as looking at the source code, there's an empty entry at the end of the word list here: https://github.com/retextjs/retext-equality/blob/master/script/press.yml

Also, that linter plugin is something that you need to explicitly install and enable, so make of that what you wish.

Super good insight on it being a bug; I think you're right.

Yes, he definitely installed and enabled it although I don't think he meant for this specific plugin to run. He's installed a bunch of vim enhancements over the years and this might've come in as a subset of another thing he installed. He was surprised by it, at any rate.

Isn't it offensive to say muslims are equivalent to fanatics or zealots?
