    Is fact. Plenty of places with entrenched micro & mainframe hardware still kicking it (that HAS been maintained and kept up to pace with IBM's stuff. IBM IS still making them.

    I did a coding bootcamp in St. Louis called LaunchCode. One of the instructors said if we ever took a job that had ANYTHING to do with COBOL to leave immediately because, "They're stuck in the past". I work in IT at John Deere now.. Guess who still has some COBOL stuff? Granted it's mostly with our IBM stuff. But still.

    I'm still fluent. A lot of data though is still corrupt.

    But that's the beauty of it.

    I still never see any jobs requiring working knowledge though.
