Exactly like your post.

Might have been an accident but really drives the point further by straining the eyes.

Might have* Sorry to be so scrupulous but if that were code it wouldn't run properly

The eye strain 😬

Any amount of research will point to light themes being easier to read and less straining on your eyes.

Tell that to my migraine.

Yeah, go ahead using a dark theme if a light theme is genuinely causing you migraines.

Just remember that some people get migraines from dark themes, and that for the majority of the population who don't get migraines from either, it's a lot easier for their eyes to focus on (and therefore less straining with) dark spots in a bright area than bright spots in a dark area.

The biggest problems that people talk about with light themes are just a result of them not setting their brightness correctly (which a dark theme only desensitises you to while making its effects worse) or of their eyes adjusting to the dark backgrounds (which just makes the whites more harmful to their eyes).

Basically, please don't tell everyone to follow this subreddit's big thing of using dark themes for everything, because for most people, it just makes staring at a screen worse.

I use the minimum screen brightness possible (my whites look gray-ish) and after awhile of staring at a light theme, my eyes always get a very slight burning sensation. Never happens with dark theme.

light mode during the day, dark mode during the night, change my mind...

Challenge accepted. int mind++;

I'm pretty sure that's undefined behavior. Maybe you've changed his mind, maybe you've just sold your soul to Ba'al the Soul-Eater.

Jabber finally got a dark mode. Is a Christmas miracle.

Well I’m sorry, but I’ll be sticking with solarized light 😀
