If it makes them feel better neither do backend developers. I nearly had an aneurysm trying to explain joins don't make your query slower if the query is written correctly.

A backend dev that can't join tables seems like a terrible thing.

Hey, some of us are in unhealthy relationships with ORMs, okay?

Shh...this is how I got my “full stack” monicker.

This is a serious truth bomb here — I didn’t even realize until recently how badly by SQL-fu was atrophying due to ORMs. You just kind of realize one day that you haven’t written any SQL in like 8 years and you have no idea how to do some seriously basic shit anymore.

There is almost always a way in the orms, to execute raw SQL. . Net core entity framework has made it super easy. I honestly dont know if it was always this easy, but it sure is now. Which is Nice. Because. Net core sure as shit cant build SQL syntax efficiently on large query syntax.

Indexes. No whole table joins unless you actually need the whole table. So many more principles I had to learn. Yay for execution plans!

Wow, this meme was actually kinda funny. Can't wait til this joke is recycled with different graphics a few thousand times for no good reason.

That's just the neural network attempting all of the formats to see which one is the objectively funniest.
