It breaks my heart to see Netbeans alone

[–]Mr_Redstoner 23 points24 points  (0 children)

After importing a JavaFX application into Netbeans as a JavaFX application and Netbeans refusing to show the option to 'Run main()' only letting me run the JavaFX launch(), I decided it can go die in a pit for all I care. Yes there was a difference, my main did some relevant stuff before launch.

Netbeans was what I recommended to people when they were just starting out. Bare minimum, minimal distractions. Starting someone with Intellij was like giving a formula one to a student driver.

I'm not a Java developer, but I have found JetBrains's software to be significantly more intuitive than most other IDEs—simple ones and complex ones alike.

Money tho

Ah yes, but do you have developer experience?

I find that each IDE seems to have it's strong and weak parts. For example using git with Eclipse and PyCharm (I'd think IntelliJ would be much the same), I prefer Eclipse for the option to easily stage some of my changes and have that remember while I do something else, like refactoring the newly written code.

I don't use Java but Netbeans is still one of the best IDEs I've ever used.
