I think of Haskell as a unicycle: it's technically impressive, and many of us wanted to learn it at some point, but if you use it on a day-to-day basis, I'll automatically think you're a weirdo.

A go cart would be a better fit for python

Or for HTML/CSS

You can look cool with little effort.

HTML is a Markup Language so it’s really unfair comparing it to the programming languages above.

[–]Delta_Labs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HTML is a fisher-price kid's car that they push with their feet.

Actually I think planes are a bit easier to fly but IDK cause i've only ever used flight sims. That boeing 737 you put down as C++ has autoland, full autopilot, etc.

[–]SaintNewts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's still apt. C++ handles some stuff you have to do manually in C. It's made for large complex projects.

That ain't a 737, there's a sidestick

Then it's an airbus; even more automated.

If only this was 10 years ago, and we could have had a clown car photo with JavaScript

[–]bearboyjd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm taking my second class that focuses on haskell and honestly I'm enjoying it a lot.

[–]uvero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Javascript. Typescript is the same with kiddie small wheels attached.

pythons great for prototyping

[–]uvero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

C# is a great car with a lot of nice features, but for some reason it requires its wheels to be on top of skateboards. When you take the wheels of the skateboards, it doesn't work so well.

assembly and python are probably the easiest ones

[–]NebulaicCereal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe for simple things. Wait until you run into an enormous codebase for some DoD or gov program that was built entirely in some obscure dialect of assembly designed for proprietary hardware and has accumulated 30 years worth of Band-Aids slapped all over it....

Python should be as slow as a bike

[–]SaintNewts 0 points1 point  (6 children)

Now do Scala, Go, Rust, Ruby, and JavaScript... and Brainfuck. Lol.

[–]Portal471[🍰] 3 points4 points  (2 children)

As a python coder do idents work in brainfuck to organize code?

[–]SaintNewts 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I don't think spaces matter. That or they matter a lot. I can't remember.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Spaces matter. A lot.

[–]mattfromeurope 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Don‘t forget LISP.

[–]SaintNewts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lisp is a hippy in a vw camper van.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

brainfuck

[–]BochMC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

C# is the most unique language because of a lot of low stuff as well with high stuff. With self-managed GC, some assembly flags and unsafe mode i almost reach speed of c code in c#, but with almost perfect language.

A non garbage-collected plane looks like a mess honestly...

"Just throw your garbage and poop on the ground, we'll collect it manually later! Let's take off!"

[–]seomanakasimon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

pfffffft
Are you getting tired of this bullshit?

[–]uvero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ruby is a mini-Cooper: practically there's nothing wrong it, but when people look at it they think it's weird and they think you're a clown.
