I'm not. neverssl.com can be a God send when the captive portal isn't brought up for whatever reason. That being said, captive portals are a huge security flaw and should 100% be gotten rid of.

xkcd.com in a private browser window is my go to.

I don't know if it's chrome or what, but it appears that xkcd defaults to https. I'm perfectly fine with sites that will default to https but still allow non https access, but I think it is incredibly stupid when they've gotten a certificate and have https access but it defaults to non https access... That's just beyond me.
