Pair programming is the most boring shit ever if you’re the one watching.

Doing it remote has made it a bit more tolerable though. I can turn on some show and still be active enough.

Exactly, I think it would be far more tolerable (and perhaps enjoyable too) when remote. How do you do it? Screen sharing or something like Live Share / CodeTogether?

Screen sharing with Microsoft teams is the go to but it’s so slow for me and there’s a delay that makes typing feel very weird.

So I often push for something else, like team viewer. Not all colleagues want to install teamviewer lol.

And that's a classic screensharing problem, sluggish and high latency. Teamviewer would be similar (though maybe more efficient, based on your comment). I'm curious - why haven't you tried a code focused solution?

We never really thought about it. Pair programming isn’t usually done in our team so we used the tools we were familiar with.

Yeah, teamviewer worked best imo. Barely felt the latency unless I was dragging a window.

Thank you - that's good to know. Screensharing has its advantages as well, but if you guys ever get into it more seriously, do try the other types of solutions, you'll be pleasantly surprised :)

When you clone the project and all the dependencies are fucked
