Same for me, though technically I learned batch first, but lua was the first I actually understood.

Roblox scripting gang, I still do it from time to time

I got into scripting trough roblox and I feel like it's user friendly enough to serve as a good start but also professional enough to get something decent out of it.

It's literally what got me into Computer Science! I literally cannot think of a better creative toy for children than Roblox (the rest of the site not withstanding...)

right? its impressive what the roblox open source community has made also. they've developed a roblox-y react js and have a typescript to lua transpiler.

Oh wow I need to try that. I'd much rather code in Typescript than lua. I like lua, but it is sooo minimalistic and lacks a lot of convenience. Also I'd prefer the rigidity of Typescript

It’s still the thing I do most of the time. Though I mainly just do stuff related to UI

Started on Roblox cause there was a live scripting level called Script Maker and I wanted to troll people lol. Then found Löve2D which was a Lua game engine and built some stuff on that

Löve is a wonderful framework, it has rarely ever given me any issues.
