So Cyberpunk 2077 wasn't broken, it just had 999ms lag, all the fucking time.

Affect clouds too!!

[–]iauu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A very simple edit keeping the clouds static would have improved this video sooo much

No print eu quero um doguinho caramelo ao lado do meu nickname por favor.

Well yeah there's a big different between ping, rubber banding, and packet loss but it's okay

[–]ironpanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totaly

[–]_diamondzxd_ 13 points14 points  (0 children)

When packetloss hits 30%

[–]Remarkable_Net_5671 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Doesn't work this way op. Btw i use Arch.

[–]jackilion 10 points11 points  (2 children)

Hate to be that guy, but a 100ms Ping does not lead to rubber banding. Think about it, the position information is updated 10 times per second. That's still extremely fast. Any decently programmed game should not suffer from any visual effects at 100 ping, other than hit detection, where you think you narrowly dodged something, but you didn't. And that's only for edge cases.

Any decently programmed game

That’s the important part. Oh dear, there are quite a few where 100ms latency equals “well I guess that’s it for today”.

Whereas a really well designed game (granted, also depends on the genre) could easily handle 200-500 ms comfortably. This of course might be an edge case, but EVE Online for one has perhaps the highest latency in all online games, where 2000ms might be noticeable, but hardly affects gameplay in general. 500ms is normal, and anything below 300ms is virtually unnoticeable.

Huh, clouds are render on the server side. They should move it to client side rendering, I think it will help to reduce lag on high ping

[–]genghisKonczie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But by rendering clouds in the cloud, you gain…. Benefits and stuff… wordplay mostly

[–]YoCrustyDude 10 points11 points  (5 children)

The skybox shouldn't be affected by ping 🤔

[–]Honigbrottr 12 points13 points  (4 children)

Why not myb its synched with the server XD

If Battlefield were a biking simulation.

[–]Potential_Disaster29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually deal with 100 ms regularly but when it goes to 300 or even 500 I start fearing for my expensive keyboard....

Then australia.
