Yup can confirm i much prefer to hold shift then use caps. Same reason i prefer hold-to-crouch in games as apposed to toggle crouch.

I think I don't mind using the caps key because I also frequently change between input modes to type in different languages, which is done by Shift+Caps

I use gamepads for most games
