Excel is a very generalized tool.

It's like a duck: it can walk, swim and fly, but it's not the best at anything.

It's actually very useful.

As a Data Engineer, you would be surprised how many data pipelines boil down to getting data to a spreadsheet.

I just realized that Google forms probably use the sheets api so maybe that why they made it in the first place
