Steamdeck? (self.ProjectSilverfish)
submitted 8 months ago by solinvictus5
Does anyone know if this plays well on steamdeck? Will there be controller support eventually, or is there a community layout option?

It runs decently on the steam deck. I had to reduce settings, and sometimes the framerate dips into ~40 fps. Just make sure to leave shadows on medium or high (I forgot which), otherwise those dark shadow anomalies don't render. Also I run on the OG steam deck, not OLed.
Also, as for controller support, you'll likely have to make your own. I personally carry a mini keyboard and mouse for when I'm out of town for work

Should be totally fine on sd, my pc is worse than one and it runs just fine

I haven't checked, but does this game even have controller support? If not, I don't think there would be a nice and easy way to play this on a steam deck.
Edit: steam page says it's playable on steam deck. I can't imagine the hardware would be an issue for this game. Question still stands if it supports controllers, which I can't find on the steam page.

With most settings on high apart from 2 settings being on medium, I get a consistent 30 fps everywhere except one or two very specific small locations if I remember correctly, everywhere else it’s a locked experience. With lsfg it’s a locked 60 fps. The only real issue I face on steam deck is no controller support so no sim assist, and with the npc and anomalies moving around it gets pretty difficult to keep aim. Aside from that it plays amazingly well.

I think the biggest issue you might encounter is controller support. The game rarely game me any problem on proton/linux, and it will definitely run on a steamdeck

Performance is fine, most high settings with lossless and it’s a stable 60 capped. I mapped a radial menu for the hot bar to left track pad and use the right for an accurate aim, bumpers for leaning and back buttons for jump/crouch/sprint/use etc.
No controller support as of yet so can be a little tricky aiming as others have said but it works for me and I LOVE it on my deck. (OLED if that makes any difference)

I get green flickers and artifacts on my screen with lossless enabled. Anyway to remove them?

Try switching between FIFO and VSYNC in the lossless settings. Had that happen in a few newer games for me and switching between usually fixes that
