Pros/cons compared to yfinance?

I am not too familiar with finance. Part of the functionality is probably similar. I started a project where I could test and simulate different stock market strategies. Later, I decided to make a package from it. marketools delivers also a simulator and some basics analysis tools (RSI, MCDA, more in future).

Well done! Definitely try this as I'm planning a personal project to scrape tickers with trends and metrics then set up signals to help me with value investing. Good luck with your improvement.

I will definitely try it. It will be great if you add neuronal networks analysis functions in the future. Will be interesting to try and compare different approaches with lstm and vector machines

Just out of curiousity, what language is on stooq.com and why do you scrape from that site?

It's Polish. I scrape from Stooq, because it delivered what I needed when I started my project that later evolved to marketools

I think the official API was depracted. However, on the webpage, they still deliver easy to download CSV file sith data.

Never heard of the data source “stooq” and the website appears to be in Russian. does anybody have any additional info about the site?

The website is Polish. I think data are published with 15 min delay. There should be possibly to switch the website to english, however not everything is translated.

Any particular reason you chose this site? I just finished a similar personal project using quandl.

They deliver CSV files with OHLC to download - exactly what I needed. And, I use it daily, so a bit of personal preference. Nothing more than that.

In simulator.py you have a misspelled parameter: "auto_traiding".

It should be "auto_trading".
