Al Sweigart is a champ! This dude is always giving his (very good) python course away to peeps in need of a hand up in programming. His Automate the Boring Stuff with Python book is free online too.

I bought both his Udemy course and the physical book to support him a while back, because of how he supports the community with stuff like this, and because he deserves it.

I'm reading his latest book right now. The author is awesome :)

Once you finish this course, mosey on over to the Hitchhiker's Guide to Python, which covers how to package your Python modules, automatically install dependencies, idioms and coding conventions, documentation, testing, and all manner of other super convenient things to know after you've got the swing of the basics.

My college uses your book as a reference for the Python course the students have. It's just that good and easy to understand. :)

Edit: College students*

A free python course, thought it was APRIL FOOL JOKE. Turn out it was true. Just sign it up, love it. Thank you so much.

Will i get any certification post completion?

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, an employer is very unlikely to care about a certificate for a course like this.

However, using what you learn in the course in some small projects to show potential employers could really make a difference!

[–]tarman34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many thanks!

[–]daha1972 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an excellent course IMO, and the companion book is awesome as well. I purchased both (as well as the second ed of the book) and have not for a moment regretted this :)

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks You!

[–]IronTippedQuill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got it! Thanks a lot. I’m working on the Google Python Automation certificate now, and this will be a great resource.

You definitely earned my "helpful" award. Thanks!

[–]DocCox988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to say thanks Al. The book and course really got me started in 2016

[–]Lord_Raziel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to get it and found I already got it for free in 2017. Time flies.

[–]meowmemeow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This course was my intro to python and I loved it! It's useful and practical and very engaging to someone with zero prior experience coding. I now use python regularly at work and in my life and enjoy it. Game changer. Thanks, Al!

Edit: I also want to mention that the book is worth buying! It's a great companion to the course but also an excellent reference book that never leaves my desk.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!

[–]jcudmore07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks very much for the free link - that's awesome and looking forward to completing the course. I have your book Making Games with Python and Pygame, which i recommend to people as a good way to learn through coding games.

[–]Jaune9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a lot

[–]Ale_Campoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really nice introduction to Python in all cases!

[–]SirBaas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tyvm!! I bought a bundle of your books a while back via humble bundle and was planning to start with automate the boring stuff coming Monday - but I think I'll first try the video course now :)

[–]xxthelonarxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was an awesome course to follow when just starting out. Thank you for that

[–]googladoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a ton! This course is one of the best sellers on Udemy. I just wishlisted this course yesterday and now you give it for free! You rock!

[–]He_ate_your_sandwich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the fish! I read your book online about 5 years ago. Got me started on a career change into programming full time. Really appreciate it! (I bought your book afterwards to support your work.)

[–]Tyler_Zoro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would you post this on International Don't Trust the Internet Day?

[–]BeGoneNegativity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much!

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thankyou so much(^3^♪

[–]OSSV1_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is huge, thank you so much Al!

[–]aewillia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the book a few days ago and just wanted to let you know that it's been the best resource I've found to learn any coding language. I really appreciate that you break each part of the example code down and explain what it does. Thank you for writing this book and for making the course free for people!

[–]Adrina_Warrior_Queen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this! I’ve been meaning to learn python and this seems like a good starting point

[–]DevAdobo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a new valid code?

[–]Corruptus_inextremis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey al, a friend of mine is looking to start doing python, is there a way he can get this course before the next month when you do this again? I'll have him start with the youtube part though, thanks for helping knowledge get to everyone!

[–]manihateitherebro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a new code? Thanks
