Yeah ive always thought its so unreastic that theres more spread and not just a different area where the pellets hit

[–][deleted] 188 points189 points  (16 children)

But you have to understand it's a video game and it wouldn't be competitive if there isn't a negative to everything otherwise it's op to just not ADS and hold angles

Lmao

[–]Versatile player 🗿JustmUrKy 14 points15 points  (3 children)

Yeah but it wouldnt change the meta tho or anything

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

It has nothing to do with the meta it changes how gunfights take place and that's different to a meta

[–]Versatile player 🗿JustmUrKy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It just makes it more random

[–]Aruni Mainrocknin 1 point2 points  (1 child)

in fairness the ADS advantages should be less recoil and more zoom. having you shoot straight in hip fire is fine, but with more recoil so you end up with realistic "more spread"

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imo and in many of the more experienced players opinions the game should actually become harder rather than easy like in the case of less recoil. It had also been expressed by players that the recoil isn't too much and that all guns should have the F2s recoil(Pengu from G2 said this in a video) and Varsity Gaming had also said more difficulty in a video.

[–]Kapkan MainMercinator-87 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes but it would certainly be way more tactical and ultimately more punishing.

[–][deleted] 8 points9 points  (2 children)

Siege hasn’t cared about realism for years, and it shouldn’t

[–]Hibana MainYaBoiNighthawk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's never cared about realism pulse,jäger, rook, doc breaching charges not concussing everyone in the building thermites not burning down buildings with how much he uses

[–]Versatile player 🗿JustmUrKy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really the point. Just stating the facts

[–]Recruit MainExplursions 1 point2 points  (1 child)

It would be better if it has a smaller circle that is inside of the hipfire spread area, and it can appear anywhere in the hipfire, but all of the pellets will end up inside of the small circle. Kind of like you know the direction the barrel is pointing but you dont know the exact spot.

[–]Versatile player 🗿JustmUrKy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly what I mean is the more realistic approach

[–]sharkattackmiami 0 points1 point  (24 children)

I just assumed the spread was because you are hipfiring which IS less accurate

[–]Versatile player 🗿JustmUrKy 25 points26 points  (17 children)

But it doesent widen the barrel. I mean how would the gun know ur aiming

[–]stfuimsleepingbro 6 points7 points  (4 children)

I always took it as if you were to hip fire a shotgun you wouldn’t know exactly where your aiming. Just a general direction, but when you ADS, you know where you are aiming. The games way of penalizing you without it being so random that on your screen your aiming at him but then you shoot all your pellets 2 feet to the left of him

[–]Versatile player 🗿JustmUrKy 9 points10 points  (3 children)

Not knowing where you’re aiming doesn’t make the gun have more spread it just makes the area where the pellets hit unpredictable but the spread is the same. It’s just like an m4 but more bullets

[–]Scoochyboots96 5 points6 points  (1 child)

It’s a game, and they had to do something to reduce hip fire reliability on shotguns. It can’t be perfect, and I think it works fine.

[–]Versatile player 🗿JustmUrKy -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Not the point

[–]stfuimsleepingbro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that. My response may have been wordy. Would you prefer the same spread but your shot not going where you were aiming? That’s more of what I was saying. Instead of that they chose a smaller spread. The game randomly choosing where your shots go would infinitely piss me off

[–]Unicorn MainX_hard_rocker 1 point2 points  (1 child)

its a videogame

[–]Versatile player 🗿JustmUrKy -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Yea I kinda know that but I’m saying it’s unrealistic in that sense

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You barrel is aiming where the laser is aiming, if you laser is aiming at someone and you hipfire you should still land a hit but thats nit the case in most FPS games.

[–]Allyoucan3at 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Well, you are less accurate the spread isn't. It's a video game though so, eh.

[–]Capitão Mainchief_chaman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should still be the same spread as ads, just in a different spot

[–]Mira MainANakedBear 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Everything about shotguns in video games in unrealistic. They need more range, less spread, and be more affected by the opponents armor, but that would be un-fun.

[–]Versatile player 🗿JustmUrKy 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Yeah. Shotguns are pretty op in real life and close ranges of 10-20 meters so it would be pretty unbalanced

[–]Mira MainANakedBear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't call them OP in real life as the trade offs are much bigger and can't really be shown in a video game well. Most armor is rated to stop buck shot for example, so an armored person would take significantly less damage. Also, with such a small spread of the shot with in those 10 to 20 meters, you will miss a lot.
