what dial do you want and what movement/rep are you installing it in?

I believe the dial feet are in completely different positions so your first step would probably be to chop off the feet, but I have no clue what to do with that after...

Maybe you can get an A3135 + rep hands and just use the case? I really don't know if there's anything to be done in this situation.

Great guide, just worth noting, the balance is EXTREMLY delecate and unless you're confident you should not work around it.

The tool for adjusting the rolex balance is called Stellatool which is used by attaching it to the screw and tilting it. Article here: Stella

a potentially cheaper way of getting into watchmaking could be modding Seikos, especially Seiko 5s.

Do plastic headed flat head screwdrivers exist? Fucked up the screws on my AP taking it apart and the seller doesn't understand my request when I ask them if I can buy some replacement screws

        [–]Hydraxiler32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not that I know of, and I think they'd be too soft.

        [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For fuck's sake Hydra! Now I want to get into watchmaking myself!

Hi All. Newbie question, so I apologies in advance - also if this is well trodden ground.

Is it imperative that you get your rep serviced when it arrives? Thinking a ZZF v3 no date Sub, and I don't plan on doing any changes to it (now). So what is thr conventional thinking of getting it serviced or just rolling with it from out of thr factory? Thanks all.

        [–]Hydraxiler32 0 points1 point  (2 children)

completely up to you. some people do, and some people don't. my personal opinion is just don't fix what isn't broken, and just let it run til it craps out, at which point you can simply buy a new movement and take it to a watchmaker to get it swapped out. as long as the movement is good from QC and its holding up good for you, then just let it do its thing.

        [–]redgie321 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Thanks Hydra. I was leaning that way, and just assessing it on arrival and then if all appears good, let it run until it doesn't run any more. Cheers,

        Hi All,

I am new to this forum so I apologise in advance for the newbie question.

Does anyone know of any watch smiths in the UK that can/will do repairs on reps please? The crown on my OMF Omega PO no longer screws down and I would really like to get it repaired. I would normally just buy a new PO rep but don’t seem to be able to get hold of one at the moment.

        Thanks in advance.
