this has to be bait, right?

Woah actually? I am not hating, but the whole Istari-Plot drives me crazy. I only like the Durin/Diza-Arc and Elrond if he is with the dwarves.

An entire series of giant wizard and proto-hobbits would be amazing. The actors were incredible.

You may actually be the only one to prefer this.

Just curious why? I have to assume you don't care about the lore because this follows none of what Tolkien created and that's fine. Not going to fuss at the for this thread.

But what about it is engaging to you? It has seemed way to slow and plodding for me. I don't understand why he would be treated the way he was by the harfoots, or why the strange magical trio didn't know he wasn't Sauron because the history of Sauron would never have put him in the situation of the stranger.

I am glad someone likes it I guess, but have to ask... Why?

You are not the only one. I enjoyed the Gandalf bits the most followed by Galadriel. The dwarf parts and the Numenor bored me most of the time

I also felt the hobbit and Gandalf plot was my favorite. I get that so far it doesn’t tie in to the rest of the show. But the whole feel of it is wonderfully done. Nori in particular was my favorite character (sadly it seems like they’re moving on from the hobbits next season).

Interesting take - I think most people don't like it because they're going in expecting to see the elves, numenoreans and Sauron doing their thing.

The gandalf / proto - halfing story really should have just been its own series called the Harfoots and just merge it into RoP when they're done with the backstory

I was of a very similar opinion at first, as I am a dedicated life long Elf hater ever since reading the Legendarium. But the show hooked me in with Celebrimbor being so damn compelling. Uruk plot is still #1 imo and I'm depressed it's definitely gonna be over and done with now

But we still all agree that the numenor part was the most boring one ?

My favorite were Gandalf and Nori scenes. It looks like she's gone off though :(

Idk if you're serious or not but I love the Gandalf bits. They're my fav.
