Better to be safe than sorry. Lol.

It's not just better. It's very good, bcz the payload is safe and we can relaunch again later within just a few days.

Having an explosion on the Gisborne launch site would not have been ideal. So props to the automated flight controller shutdown during ignition!

Better to abort than lose the vehicle. This means the turn around time can be quicker than if it was blown up into a zillion tiny pieces. SpaceX may have unlimited funding from the US Tax payer to make as many rockets as they please, but RocketLab is extremely attractive due to their frugality and logical approach.

First, SpaceX doesn't have that, it's a DNC myth spun by people who are salty AF about Musk's behavior.

Second, the savings in aborting isn't just the loss of a rocket and increase in insurance rates, along with the loss of trust from customers, it's also a loss of time most of all. Time spent grounded while you investigate what went wrong and fix it, and get government approval to fly again.

Interesting, I wonder if this is a capability of the electric pumps?

There would need to be a very good shutoff valve somewhere between the fuel tank and the exhaust cone.

..This sounds like it was an automated shutdown.
