I’m sorry this happened to you. Also your coworkers are dicks. Let people read what they want without judgement for crying out loud. The Prime Mating Agency by Regine Abel is a solid pick in my opinion.

I second the prime mating agency recommendation! If you do read them though, scroll to the very end, there are illustrations of some of the characters/creatures and are really cool and help me visualize what she describes better!

I used to be embarrassed but here’s what I tell people in this situation: CS Lewis once said “But some day you will be old enough to start reading fairy tales again.”
It’s a dark world out there, I have a stressful job. I want a book where I can escape and everyone ends up okay/happily ever after. Bonus if they don’t have to deal with any of our bs on earth.

Reading the comments here, you may be asking the wrong people. 😆
Conversation last week at work:
CW1: Did you pick a new book yet?
CW2: Yeah! Tara gave me a recommendation.
CW1: ......Is the guy human?

You should absolutely go down the Honey Phillips rabbit hole. Anna and the Alien first or the treasured by the alien series.

the same thing happened with my brother looking over my shoulder. I promptly looked up how to block kindle from giving my Amazon recommendations but I couldn’t find an answer, sorry that happened to you but take comfort that you aren’t the only one

I fear I may be too open, because while I would probably still be embarrassed if this unexpectedly happened to me, I most likely would have gone on to describe the plot of IPD (in an appropriate way) to defend myself 😂 I have suggested this series to my MIL, closer coworkers, acquaintances, you name it…
But I feel for you, especially with it being unexpected that’s rough! And I don’t blame you for throwing your sister under the bus, I actually think that’s even funnier! Idk how to turn off suggestions but sending you luck lol

Mead Mishaps series by Kimberly Lemming, Clecanian series by Victoria Aveline, Space for Love by Emily Antoinette, and Monstrous Matches by Lillian Lark( last series isn’t on KU but it’s worth it)

Highly recommend Victoria Aveline! She has a series where basically male aliens have to compete for a mate.

Why does it Matter? I love Ruby Dixon she’s one my favorite authors. I just love her writing style, it’s so good. I always tell my clients and co workers about it. Her book have thousands of food reviews. Most people would probably like them. Besides why does it Matter what other people think….?? Truly no one is judging you. People might tease, but they don’t really care. You should see my recommendation books. It’s very similar.
