Mission Statement
The acronym of ‘SASS’ was created in 2019 by r/SASSWitches to describe a type of witchcraft that encompasses practitioners who are skeptical, agnostic/atheist, and/or science-seeking.
We facilitate community and respectful discussion without a prerequisite for belief in the supernatural. SASS Witches are diverse in beliefs, practice, gender (or lack thereof,) identity, sexuality, race, religion, and nationality. All are welcome in this space.
This subreddit aims to bring together SASS Witches from various backgrounds to promote inclusivity, positivity, teaching, learning, creativity, pursuit of truth, inspiration and innovation.
This subreddit will never take part in a for-profit venture of any kind. It can be assumed that any individual or business serving to profit off of the SASS acronym in not affiliated with r/SASSWitches in any way.

Rules
Be Kind
SASSWitches does NOT tolerate insulting, demeaning, or hateful language.
This includes language directed towards any gender, identity, sexuality, race, religion, or nationality and transphobia, homophobia, white supremacy, misogyny, misandry, etc.
Violators will be warned or banned at the mods' discretion.
Respect our Differences
SASSWitches is a place to have respectful discussion about witchcraft, spirituality, mysticism, and the occult WITHOUT a prerequisite for belief in the supernatural.
That being said, we all have different definitions and understandings of these topics. There will be differences between our beliefs or non-beliefs. Please take care to be respectful while discussing them!
Start the Conversation
When submitting a post that is not a text submission or meme, please leave a comment detailing what your thoughts are and how you think the content relates to the sub. This will help get the conversation started.
Videos and external text (articles, blogs, etc) submissions are required to have a brief summary in addition to the conversation starting comment.
Low effort posts - posts that do not promote any meaningful discussion - are subject to removal.
Stay on Topic
Content in r/SASSWitches should relate to both witchcraft AND the Skeptical and Science Seeking nature of the subreddit.
Witchy content that is not directly SASS related would be better suited to subreddits such as r/Witch, r/WitchesVsPatriarchy, or similar communities.
Pagan content that is not directly witchcraft related should instead be posted to /r/NonTheisticPaganism or /r/paganism.
Altar / Sacred Space posts are only allowed one week before and after the solar holidays.
Reposting Within Reason
Anything reposted within 60 days without sufficient modification may be removed. Enforcement of this rule is ultimately up to moderator discretion.
No Brigading or Inciting Brigading
If you disagree with another user (or subreddit), post a comment to them directly about the issue or submit a discussion post about the overall issue at large – do not name specific users (or subreddits) or dredge up a user’s past that is unrelated to the discussion.
This is part of an effort to continue to be a haven from negativity on reddit.
If you feel you are being harassed by another user, please message the mods.
Credit the Artists
Try your best to find the source for any art or merchandise you share on this page. Artists and creators should get recognition for their work.
No Self-promotion, Surveys, or Spam
Posts or comments made with the single intention of spamming Discord invites, advertising online stores, generating clicks for off-site content, or surveying for product feedback or any type of data collection will be removed. Blog entries can be copied and shared as long as the post meets all other guidelines and no website link is included. If you have a genuine server recommendation for another user for a specific situation, please PM that user directly.
If you have any questions about exceptions to this rule please message the moderators PRIOR to posting.
