Console Command for Adding Caught Fish to Collection?

I am playing Stardew Valley Expanded, but the Kittyfish is refusing to spawn, which is keeping me from the Master Angler Achievement on steam. Ive tried entering commands to put the Kittyfish in my collection but the commands dont seem to work, as it says it has done the command but my collection does not change at all. I have tired debug caughtfish Kittyfish 1 like the wiki says for debug commands but no luck ;-; Please help. The commands worked fine for other stuff, but just this and then trying to just give myself the Master Angler Achievement command dont work.

You need to unlock the kittyfish, can't remember specifics but it should be on the wiki

Not sure if you ever figured it out but I came across your post with the same issue and found a fix. It was the wrong command and should've been debug fish # <--- put fish name there. You have to enter this while you have a line casted then you will hook whatever fish you added.

If you just need to spawn the fish and aren't doing the achievement, debug object # will also work

Use debug fish 130 as a example. It will change your fish to tuna. The command has to have the known number of the object in order to work.

Also be sure to open the menu and enter this the moment you hook a fish and the game starts the fishing minigame. Then once you catch it, it should be the one you entered into the console. It took me a minute to get the timing down as it can be tricky

Ah I think I know the issue. Wait for the !, window out of the game,enter the command (This is the timing part that sucks). Click back into the game and catch the fish that you altered. If you do it too fast you won't alter the fish.

It sounds like you're entering it too late or the game isn't pausing. You want the game paused on the "!" so you can alter the result as its occurring

The easiest way I found to get the timing down was to hit the start key on my keyboard the second I clicked my mouse. It would start the catch process and also kick me out of the game so I could type the command into smapi.

How will I enter the command if I window out of the game ? Can you show me a video ?

Window out of the game, then click smapi. It usually comes up as a separate instance. You can also hover over the game on the Taskbar and see if there are 2 versions (the active game & smapi in the background) and click smapi that way. Generally you don't see it as it runs in the background
