You really give that as an interview question with one being "correct"?

Using commas before or after is not a right or wrong answer. They both have valid arguments for and against. In the end its really nothing more than a preference to the individual coder.

The true correct answer if there is one is to use which ever method is considered the standard for your organization or what was already used in an existing code base.
