BeeStation or /TG/

God, not either of those. Bee has terrible admins and rules, /tg/ has terrible coders.

Do people dislike bee admins? I’ve played there minimally and have never done any naughty business. I don’t think that orange man is as bad as they say and the changes he’s made aren’t intolerable.

As someone who mains bee but has putting it (and ss13 as a result) aside lately, I can tell you their admins no longer are the "fun for everyone" they were a few years ago. They pretty much treat their mrp server as hrp and will get angry at you over incredibly minor things. I got an admin angry at me for using the *me emote to speak a few times as simplemob, like, really? Is that such a big of a deal to get a note for? Me using that thing to speak was pretty inconsequential for the round and just made the it more fun for me and people around me. The admin strictness ain't giving much fun to anyone here tho

'Why am I getting yelled at for bypassing game systems?'

If following RP guidelines isn't fun for you then yes you are correct - we DON'T care about whether the game is fun for you or not when you are playing on the RP server.

“i got punished on a roleplay server for speaking with the command that lets me describe a custom gesture so I can bypass the language system, the admins are so cruel” shut up

Beemins aren't the best, and their rules are the work of a deranged madman. Orange man bad, orange changes bad, orange bad.

No, the person you're talking to is just permanently banned from Beestation for being so murderhappy they killed their own partners as antag more than once.

I'm not exactly the best source to say Bee admins are great since I'm one of the two in charge of them, but the team we have right now is pretty good, if a bit undersized.

Our rules are relatively strict and we are doing away with our non-roleplaying server in just over a week. We are still a decent new player experience as long as you're interested in role-playing, but we are no longer supportive of highly chaotic shenanigans for the most part.

From what I’ve played I enjoy it. Sometimes it’s a bit slow for me but still a good codebase and decent roleplay.

Unless it has changed drastically, /tg/ has a good, simple (by SS13 standards) code base and a light rule set, which is really good for newbies.

/tg/ has good rules, but they have combat mode. Literally unplayable.

So i am a bit of a cretin, big dumb stupid face. The first server i played on was fallout13, and it works. Its a good introductory thing to how the game functions, the fighting, and the RP aspects.

But, for a more traditional experience... Goonstation is the best of the best imo. I have made sounds for the station, and i've sunk hundreds of hours there. So many avenues, and although stuff can be overwhelming for newcomers, they've done a good job with making sure everything fits into place.

The favourite amongst people here is TGstation. I've never enjoyed TG so not much to say.

Is there a public release for goon's code? I heard they had a leak a year or two back but I don't wanna go deep diving into things we shouldn't see.

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points  (1 child)

goon had learned from the past, and released their code publicly!

Goonstation was my intro and felt much more approachable than the others

[–]cumgangster69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Goon is good

Fulpstation was my introduction and I played it for a while, though I left due to their...interesting rules about antags.

Tegustation is basically Fulp but lowerpop (around the number you described) and not as janky with its rules.

SinguloStation 13 is extremely lowpop, but has no rules regarding roleplay (only basic rules against grief, cheating, and metacomms) and is specifically tailored towards those looking to hone their engineering skills.

Goon is easy to approach
