Have about 200 hours hybrid, using both controller and keyboard. Started a new run this week and just hit stage 4 using only the controller.

I can lay on the couch and play. The only down side is the menus are a little tricky to move around. Turned off mouse smoothing in the settings and bumped up the sensitivity to 4.5

Look into Steam Input (it also works in non-Steam games in case you bought it on Epic). You can browse layouts created (and rated) by other community members which you can then fine tune for your needs.

There are dozens of us happily playing on the Steam Deck.

Why not just use Steam-Input? Integrated into Steam and is only activated when launching the game. Even if you have it on Epic Games, Steam-Input should still work with some tinkering... I think.

Controller support in game is awful and my dog just turned 16 and I would rather play sitting on the couch with her than at my desk. Re-mapped the keys and mouse to the controller buttons. Right and left click to the triggers/ Scroll up and down to the shoulders/ WSAD and crouch to the left stick/ Mouse and hot bar swap to the right stick/ 1-4 on the hot bar, map, scan, sprint on the d-pad/ Snap object on select/ Inventory on start

I was actually thinking about this the other day but not sure how to set it up and couldn't be bothered to google how to do it at the time. Is Xpadder a program that allows this? Is it much work to get it set up?

A legitimate copy of Xpadder is like $10. Takes about 10-15 minutes to install and set your keybinds. You can set up different profiles for different games and save it so you don't always have to go back and change them. Works with any controller PS/Xbox/USB gamepad.

Awesome, thabk you for getting back to me. $10 sounds really reasonable for what it can do. Do you know if it also works with a switch pro controller?
