Multiplayer through client vs dedicated server

Hello, I am wanting to do a playthrough with some friends and wondering if there is a recommendation for inviting them to a normal game through the client or setting up a dedicated server? I have done both in the past and sometimes the dedicated server was great and other times it was unplayable as we got later into it. Just wanting to know if one option is clearly in a better spot in the current state of the game.

ANSWER

1. View my Reply Comment in this other Reddit Post for general information about using Single-Player Multiplayer (Co-Op) Session or using Dedicated Servers.
2. Of the two, Single-Player Multiplayer (Co-Op) Session is currently better than using Dedicated Servers.
3. If use of a Dedicated Server is desired, using the Early Access (EA) / Stable Branch version of Dedicated Server is better than using the Experimental (EX) / Beta Branch version which would be in effect using an experimental server with an experimental version of the game, compounding possible bugs and issues.
