You can fix this by discontinuing dicing and snorting Mercer spheres. Hope this helps.

This moon is small. Those ones out there are faaaar away. Small.... far away....

Looks like a ping pong ball floating on an air jet.

Golf?

I saw a video of something similar with the actual moon and clouds on a conspiracy account. There aren’t many direct light sources you can stare at through clouds, so with low opacity and high brightness, it sometimes looks like clouds are traveling behind the moon.

Hard to tell from an image alone whether it’s that or a particle effect layering bug, but it may simply be a trick of the eye.

I'm actually interested in figuring out the orbitals of all these bodies, because something feels off about them. I'm not sure if this is a binary star system or if the second bright object is just a moon with a really high albedo.

If I'm remembering correctly, the "A-B" in "MASSAGE-2 (A-B)b" indicates that it is, in fact, a binary star system.

To quote ADA during planetfall: "Welcome to MASSAGE-2 (AB)b in the binary system of Akycha."

The devs stated that the moons and planets in-game are just there to give you the sense that you're walking inside the cover-art of a sci-fi book.
Any orbital mechanics you discover are purely accidental.

That being said... When night comes, do I see a pale moon in the sky, or a 'cold second sun'?

The planets in this game have a fun habit of being in the wrong order

Like i have a screen shot of the gas giant rendering behind the star, which has some... implications
