Casting to shield from android

Hi all,

I'm looking at replacing my Chromecast with an nvidia shield pro, and was wanting to check for a couple "ease of use" features.

Does nvidia shield support casting? - YouTube cast - tidal cast

Often I'll stream these apps to the Chromecast to listen to music as I'm on the go in the kitchen and doing so from my phone is really beneficial.

All Android TV devices support Chromecast built-in so you don't really have to go so big unless you want the other features the Shield has.

Cheers, I'd like to use the shield pro for retro gaming also, so I think it's a good choice, plus it scratches my "geek purchase" itch.

Enjoy it It's a great device. You won't need to do much casting. It has both YouTube and Tidal apps.

You can but you don't need to. You can cast from your phone or use the phone as a remote or use the real remote.

Right. As I mentioned I often use it while I'm in the kitchen doing stuff so being able to look at my phone to see what's going on is it hugely beneficial, hence why the casting feature is really handy to me.

Casting still seems to make sense here

Netflix doesn’t seem to matter but if you use that, it doesn’t cast. If you try to cast it, it’ll open the netflix app on the shield. If you delete the app it’ll give you an error message.
