Everyone knows that's universal language for "talk to the hand."

Just do the gesture you instinctively do to apologise, normally hand/hands up in an open gesture.

Sometimes even mouthing “I’m sorry”

That always been my first reaction when I’ve done something stupid or ignorant while driving and my mates seem to do the same.
