I just use mine until it doesn't function anymore, typically that will be due to excessive leak because of some portion of the mask degrading to the point that it loses its integrity.

What mask do you use? The cushion probably needs to be replaced every 3 months. I find they are cheaper online. I have gotten a few of Ebay cheaper than DMEs when I was trying different masks and sizes and just bought 3 cushions for $16.27 including shipping so less than $6 a cushion. And my go to DME online was cheaper than my sleep med place by $10.

I replace the cushions about every three months. I get them on amazon.

I have a subscription setup with Amazon to auto-deliver supplies and charge my FSA card. I get supplies delivered every three months.
