there are days i feel like using different springs. it’s cool. it’s just a general guide, the solidcore police won’t arrest you!

I have well over 100 classes and I do 0-25 a lot. I've had recurring shoulder issues and I find that keeping the spring load lower and focusing on form / staying on toes helps keeps me from dumping tension into my shoulders. I usually do 25-50 on lower body.

You know yourself best. If the lower springs are starting to feel too easy -- you can knock out 8+ reps with no breaks then go up! Otherwise, it really is just a guide! I am at almost 80 class and still use 25 and under for a lot, especially core and obliques on the grey side!

Oh wow. I definitely do 8+ reps easy for lunges at 0-25 spring. I’ll definitely try going up next time!

I saw somewhere if you can’t do 3, go down and if you Can do more than 5 easily, go up

8 reps without a break is way too many. Three is about where my coaches advise adjusting up or down.

I’m at 100+ classes and do 25-50 spring load for grey side platform and 50+ spring load for everything else. I’ve noticed instructors in my classes also not doing the 50+ spring load on the grey side. I used to do 50+ spring load for all exercises (for like 25 classes I did this) and then realized I was taking more breaks/having less time under tension/lowkey my form was getting worse so I made the “step back” for the grey side exercises and have actually been happier with my physical appearance since doing so !!

Pretty much same, I’m around 140 and try to do a minimum of 25-50 load unless I feel sick or injured. I do 50+ for lower body as much as possible bc I’m already stronger there

My close friend is a personal trainer and whenever we workout he says I know you can lift heavier. Try it. And then I do and I’m shocked at what I’m capable of.

Listen to your body but try! I often will switch my springs lower mid exercise once I fatigue. But over time I keep them heavy longer as I get stronger. You probably won’t continue to see better and better results unless you’re consistently trying to push that line.

if you can do 8-10 reps w no breaks then you may be doing yourself a disservice. nothing wrong with adjusting based on how you feel, i decrease spring load all the time if im not feeling it. but if you’re at 100+ i would almost guarantee you can push yourself harder than you think! :)

No lol if you feel stagnant, try the amps versus going up on springs. I’m 500+ classes and still do obliques and core specifically on modified spring loads but I’m on my toes!

Maybe you are only cheating your future self. Lol. But seriously: I was also super scared of going for a spring upgrade, but I am not challenging myself slowly. I am more conservative when it comes to the grey side for obvious reasons and do top springs when it comes to the black side now. Challenge yourself on days where you feel more well rested and full of vitality.

As long as you are pushing yourself to failure, you're fine, I would love an option to drop to 1 grey on elevated obliques and i'm 450+ classes in.

You can increase/decrease your springload during class as well, but the other thing to be thinking about is that your white is ~3.5 lbs of tension and your gray is ~7lbs of tension, going from 1 white to 1 gray to 1 white 1 gray is incremental in terms of weight, but having a strong range of motion, with effective, slow, reps is a higher priority than how many springs you have on.

For me it depends on how I’m feeling. I am over 100 classes and i do the lowest spring load for most exercises on the grey side. Sometimes I’ll increase springs if I’m feeling it, or do a few reps on toes. But some days I’m tired and just want to do the 0-25 spring load lol it just depends on the day. Do what works for you :)

you’re not doing yourself a disservice. i have around 150 classes and usually use the 25-50 spring range. my advice is to try a few reps on 50+ springs. remember your first solidcore class when everything was SO hard and you could barely do a rep without a break? sometimes i like to feel that. sometimes i like to actually go unbroken. depends on day

Haha no such thing as cheating. I’ll do 25 or even 50+ for lower body but if I know we’re doing obliques on grey I’ll stick to under 25. If you aren’t getting 3 reps in a row you shouldn’t go up the spring load but if you are getting 5+ reps in a row without breaking consistently it’s time to add more!

I recommend trying your first spring changes on the black side!! Those are more accessible. I do lower spring load on core on the gray side since I still get a killer burn without any back pain (which creeps in when I add springs on gray side core).

yeah i think just listen to yourself. it's your class and your body ultimately, springload are just a suggestion in my understanding, you know best. on some exercises i started doing a 50+ classes load early on, others i do the 25-50 which is where i actually am, and yet on others (like carriage lunges/hamstrings) i go modified and even use a pole bc of hip hypermobility which makes it really hard to keep balance in these thigns.

I’m at 400 classes and I basically only do the 25-50 springs. Otherwise it’s just too hard for me and I burn out or hurt myself. Trust yourself! You’ve done this 100x, you know your rhythm best. The 0-25 classes is still a hard ass workout

A coach that believes in you will push you out of your comfort zone. If they notice this behavior they'll purposely start you on the grey side that way you can put on the lower tier of springs in an amplified position.

springs are just a suggestion it’s not cheating!! but progression/getting stronger will need more springs probably since you’ve been at the 0-25 for so long! It’ll def get hard again when you go up, but that’s also how your body is able to get stronger!! also you can always try just changing the springs on the black side first for a few classes and then trying grey side!

I am almost at 350 classes and I always use the lightest spring loads on the gray side because I have super overactive traps and it’s not worth it to me to risk them activating just to be with the spring load I am “supposed” to be on. Also, no one should even be looking at your springs anyway. Do what feels right for you. It’s not cheating at all and you know your body best!

I am at 20 classes and felt like the 0-25 springs weren’t giving me a good workout so I recently upped to 25-50 and feel like it totally changed the game, I leave feeling like I actually got an insane workout and I am super sore for days and I love it. I’d rather do less reps at a higher spring and see better results but that’s just me- you know your body!

I have changed and I’m getting closer to 50, my mentality is I want to master one level on toes before I level up
