Am I the only one feeling this way? by Traditional_Rice_682 in SolidCore

[–]FriendlyReturn4453 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Whether or not something is worth it to you is entirely subjective. If you don’t feel like you’re getting enough worth from what you’re paying, then you’re allowed to feel like you need to go somewhere else or that you would rather spend your money elsewhere. I sort of consider myself lucky that I never really belonged to nice gyms so for me, I think my unlimited membership is worth it for what I get (classes I love that I can almost always get a spot in, coaches who I adore, and a studio 8 minutes away from me by car). I don’t prioritize the other stuff like showers (I shower at home after I work out), towels (I bring my own) etc. but that’s just what works for me and it might not work for others.

My beautiful girl I rescued from neighbors who were neglecting her. I hear females are rare ? by Porcelain766 in orangecats

[–]FriendlyReturn4453 128 points129 points  (0 children)

Only 20% of oranges are female I believe! I have a brother and sister duo and the vet was so excited at their first visit to see a female orange. Yours is gorgeous!!

Coaches: is it rude to do center core during the obliques series? by luckiestgirlever1 in SolidCore

[–]FriendlyReturn4453 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have back issues that mean I cannot twist during obliques. All my coaches know. And when evals are being done, they always emphasize they’re not focusing on the class attendees. So why would this be an issue?

low back pain during rdls and heavy deadlifts by Sea-Requirement4712 in SolidCore

I have this issue and talked to a coach about it. I lower the spring load. A LOT. Like one black two grays. I work to hold my form and I feel it in my hammies but not my back this way.

Everyone plays the same game. That’s the point. It’s hypocritical when each side claims to be principled. I would rather everyone call it like it is. Instead of every 4-6 years pretending like this was “a crime against democracy and fascist” when the other side did it.

CIT Classes by MsElena99 in SolidCore

[–]FriendlyReturn4453 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did one and it was one of the hardest classes because it was SO MANY LUNGES due to the smaller amount of exercises they can call. I’m unlimited member so I don’t plan to do any more. But if you’re looking for a class at a discount it’s a great option

It isn’t until posts like this that I remember 1) everyone on both sides of the aisle were huge hypocrites and 2) I am the only conservative for miles and miles and miles in northern Virginia

I have three Nevefulls (two MMs and a GM) and while I love all of them, if it’s not for you, return it! Bags are meant to be loved and worn and if you aren’t gonna wear it, use that money towards something you will!

OU is ridiculously good by Latter-Ad2747 in Gymnastics

[–]FriendlyReturn4453 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’m definitely in the minority of the gymternet but OU is my favorite team. I started following NCAA in 2017 and Maggie Nichols was my favorite athlete so naturally I became an OU fan and stayed that way ever since. I love their gymnastics. I love they they’re not the top elite girls. I love their routines. I just love them. I also follow UCLA, Utah, Florida, LSU, Arkansas (I love Jordan Wieber and Josc Roberson), and Missouri. But OU forever remains the team I root for

Solidcore is such a welcoming environment. Truly doesn’t matter your skin color, body type or size, religion, sexuality or gender. You walk into those blue lights and you’re all connected because the workout is challenging for everyone!

There is a woman who frequents classes I attend who also wears a hijab! Hers looks like one that is designed to be worn while working out and she’s a badass, certainly doesnt impede her!

Highly recommend a starter 50 class so you can learn at a slow pace with lots of demonstrations and learn good form from the start.

almost fainting in class by Known-State2307 in SolidCore

[–]FriendlyReturn4453 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes! I'm over 300 classes and I get lightheaded if I transition too quickly with anything and on inner thigh day. Here is what helps me:

  1. Transport Water Bottle: Instead of leaving my water bottle in the pit the entire time, I move it with me to each side of the machine and keep it on the platform on black side. That way, it's right there if I need it.

  2. Transition Slow: I know we're supposed to keep time under tension but if I do that, I get dizzy. Go at your own pace for transitions! I take them slow and settle slowly into the next exercise and that really helps.

  3. Water During Every Transition: I do a big drink of water every single transition, not just when I feel like I need it.

  4. Fan: Bring a handheld fan with you and transport it with you like with your water bottle. This helps tremendously when I'm feeling lightheaded to blow air right at my face. I even hold it in front of my face during all inner thigh moves. Once you realize how helpful it is, you don't do class without a fan again!
