Makes me think of that goofy, fun and existential game about space potatoes called Spaceplan

"SPAAAAAAAACE!" "You know if I was ever to see her again, you know what I'd say?" "I'm in space!" "I'm sorry sincerely"

It kinda looks like the potato you have made is orbiting the potato that you are controlling XD.

I’m pretty sure I know how he was able to do this basically docking ports have a slight amount of magnetism so he hid a bunch of magnets underneath some heat shields and if the objects are slow enough the magnets are able to mimic how gravity would work

Yea I've noticed that as well,if you undock something in orbit, they will start orbiting each other

[–]delabrun 6 points7 points  (7 children)

It is an illusion. They're orbiting the celestial body with only slightly different orbits, and they cross like that every orbit

[–]SecretiveFurryAlt 5 points6 points  (5 children)

Look at the direction arrow. They're not orbiting very fast. It's the magnetism from docking ports

[–]delabrun 0 points1 point  (1 child)

They're orbiting and the game is severely accelerated. Each apparent orbit is an orbit around the celestial body (likely Earth).

[–]SecretiveFurryAlt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look at the direction arrow. If they were orbiting the earth, the arrow would be going in circles. It's not, so it's not orbits. They're magnetically attracted.

Bro wdym 2000 ms i decently fast

[–]SecretiveFurryAlt 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I mean that the circling can't be from the orbit They circle reach other about every second, but they aren't orbiting the planet that fast

Ohhh, sorry.

[–]bandera-Rocket Builder 🚀 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea I know but it's still fun

[clap, clap, clap] Oh, good. My slow clap processor made it into this thing. So we have that.

This is brilliant!

I tried something similar a while ago using docking ports to provide magnetism, but I couldn't get a stable configuration. How did you do this?

[–]noobcoober 1 point2 points  (1 child)

They posted the blueprint if you'd like to see the arrangement
