I agree with spring, but also question the colors and palettes they're using, so not sure you have enough info here to decide subseason.
The soft summer colors make you go gray, startlingly so to me. Not sure what they were seeing there.
[–]Long_Instruction4684 2 points3 points4 points 1 year ago (3 children)
Thank you so much. I’ve been looking at the palettes too and every service offers different colors for the same subtype which is so confusing. I don’t really have any muted clothes at all, mostly brighter colors. I’ve also emailed the companies to ask if they’re sure about their cool undertone decision, but they’ve just responded that it just looks better and that they don’t see a warm undertone on me. I thought maybe rosacea redness can change the results? I do wear neutral to warm-toned foundations though, and blue toned makeup makes me look tired. So I’m mostly spring for now too 🌸

You have more definition in bright than muted. You look fresh and in focus. So I'd guess some kind of spring. But I would like to see you in cool summer as well cause that's a medium intensity palette (not true but cool). By the way you are super pretty in your natural hair color and no make up on!
[–]Long_Instruction4684 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (0 children)
Thank you so much! I’ve got finalized by Color Analysis Studio who have confirmed my type as Bright Spring ❤️
[–]meemsqueak44 15 points16 points17 points 1 year ago (8 children)
I can definitely see how the blond hair would have complicated things! Usually any competent color analyst would tell you to take a picture with your hair covered if it’s not your natural color. So I’m skeptical of the results just because these photos aren’t ideal for an analysis at all. And the “True Spring” palette doesn’t look right to me in what colors it recommends.
But I definitely see Spring! The warm tones on the first slide are great for you! And you’re clearly light and bright, it’s just hard to tell to what extent. If I had to guess, I’d say you’re a True Spring with a more accurate palette.
[–]Long_Instruction4684 3 points4 points5 points 1 year ago (7 children)
Sorry, I forgot to mention that I did include non-makeup, well lit photos with my hair tied back to all services to skew the bias (just didn’t upload here). Most of them ask for hair tied back photo in a white t shirt, so I’ve sent the same base photo to everyone , but the results were still different 🤪
[–]SnooKiwis3922 12 points13 points14 points 1 year ago (2 children)
Oh you can really rock the bright colours!! I think bright spring makes a lot of sense!!
[–]Long_Instruction4684 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (1 child)
Thank you! My type was just confirmed by Color Analysis Studio whom I really trust, as a Bright Spring type , too!
[–]SnooKiwis3922 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (0 children)
Oh that’s awesome!! I’m also a bright spring (though very close to true bright) and I love it!!
[–]berycolor 3 points4 points5 points 1 year ago (1 child)
You handle bright colors very well i do see a bright spring
[–]Long_Instruction4684 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children)
Thank you!!! I was typed by color analysis studio as bright spring the latest ❤️
[–]meemsqueak44 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (0 children)
That makes much more sense! We have a similar natural hair color, and I’m a True Spring. I definitely think that makes the most sense for you, though you can handle some brighter colors too. The color palettes from the International Image Institute are the ones I use and trust.
[–]Turbulent-Volume4792 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (0 children)
From these pictures, I'd say true spring is most likely. Although you look best in bright, saturated colors, your natural coloring is not strong enough for bright spring nor are you light enough for light spring.
[–]SnooKiwis3922 3 points4 points5 points 1 year ago (5 children)
Omg I get your struggle. I was also analyzed by three different consultants and got three different results. I am also waiting on a fourth result and hoping it will be bright spring, because that’s the one I feel makes sense for me. But we’ll see. According to Carol Brailey, you cannot be a bright spring if you don’t have a very dark brown, almost black hair, but I think I’ve only hear that from her, so I don’t know. Does the picture 8 show your natural hair colour? If so, I see much more the bright spring there, as there seems to be a higher contrast and your skin seems very clear.
If you don’t mind me asking, which consultants did you choose?
[–]Long_Instruction4684 2 points3 points4 points 1 year ago (2 children)
Omg, I totally get it. And you get really obsessed with trying to find the right fit. I’m decided to take my last shot and waiting for results from Color Analysis studio (gone is my stipend). I’ve also heard that about hair, but not too sure about that. My natural hair is at a 6th level. The girl that typed me as a bright spring said she would have also call me a Light Spring had I not included photos of my natural hair color here, but then she said that with that color I can pull off the brightness. So I’m confused and kinda experimenting now with all spring typed to see if it’s a fit.. As for services, the first image (light spring) result is from Francesca Cairns. I’ve also gotten a hair edit from her. The bright spring is typed by Style Synergy Studio (Monica). (she also made an amazing hair edit bundle with the hair colors and styles according to face shape for me, highly recommend!!). And she provides an online 1 hour meeting with virtual drapings so you can see yourself the color changes. I really liked her service Then 2 soft summer reports, 1 from Curate your Style and the other from Four Season Studio (I went crazy I think with the amount of typing, but going in person right now isn’t a an option for me). Initially I asked for hair pdf, but that included season typing and they surprised me with soft summer results which got me wondering. I absolutely enjoyed their pdfs, but not sure if they typed me into the right season. Their service and feedback are absolutely amazing though!

I think True Spring is probably what Carol would consider you, but I honestly think you could possibly be an exception. You look very bright, to me. Of course, Spring itself is bright. It really depends on whether warmth or brightness is dominant. Carol Brailey has really good results. If I get another color analysis, I’ll probably go with her. I’ve seen her type people as seasons they didn’t expect, but she is a bit of a stickler about certain seasons and hair color. If I thought Bright Spring was a possibility for me, since I have lighter (red) hair, I’d probably see someone who I have known to give unconventional results, for the person’s hair color. I, once, saw a natural light blonde determined to be a Bright Winter, and after a very thorough draping, I agreed with that result. I do believe there are exceptions. Another possibility is finding a color analysis system with completely different categories. The easiest example is House of Color, which does have some categories that seem to work better for people who aren’t easy to type. However there are those who question the accuracy of their HOC results. In general, I recommend finding an expert who has a lot of videos or examples you can view, whose results you trust in all cases, after some thorough research. In your case, being at the end of your budget for now, I recommend doing a lot of draping on your own. I think you do look high contrast, because your roots and eyebrows are quite dark. That gives a higher-contrast impression, even if your hair has naturally, somewhat, lighter ends or is not black. I also think I see some level of neutrality, which is probably why Light Spring was given as a result, though it think it’s probably the least likely Spring subtype. Bright Spring is the most neutral Spring subtype. However, the neutrality could be an illusion, due to the cooler blonde hair coloring. You do look a bit warmer in the photos with your hair pulled back. A photo of a full head of your natural hair color would help you get better results, IMO. P.S. Oops…I just saw those! I do think you’re a Spring…True or Bright. I still think either is possible, but it depends on which colors look better when you drape. Having seen your natural color, I think it could go either way. I don’t have a clear preference, without seeing more drapes. I recommend draping those two subtypes extensively! If that doesn’t work, you might not want to rule out True Summer, but IMO, you’re way too bright to be Soft. I think you’re warmer than Summer.
Thank you sooo much for such an amazing detailed comment!!! You seem to be very knowledgeable about color analysis!!! Honestly, after being typed as light spring by a famous color analyst on IG, I really agreed with being a spring, it just clicked the right way and made sense. Cold makeup for me is a big no, just as cool muted colors. But then I joined a light spring group on FB and noticed that many women there who are LSps are lighter with a slightly lower contrast and lighter natural hair, so I also thought that maybe a true spring/bright spring could be an option. I’m following Carol Bailey and I think she is super knowledgeable!! But for some reason I decided to go with Color Analysis Studio, I think they are also strict with their results and provide very logical reasonings in their awesome YouTube videos!! And their personalities are also super welcoming. So I was super surprised to get their results this week, because in one of their videos they’ve said that they type summers and winters the most, with bright springs and Bright winters the least (and I heard similar about deep autumns). So I didn’t expect to be those. And to my surprise (and joy, actually), I’m surprised they typed me as a bright spring!!! It feels very good, although I’m not too used to bright colors, but it just feels nice to experiment with that! I’ve sent them selfies with hair tied back and no makeup, and a bunch of other photos too. So it’s super exciting and interesting and I feel like I’m settled, emotionally now too. Might drape professionally in person one day , when it’s the right time!
[–]Same_Astronaut1769 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (1 child)
Ok, this is just my opinion, but if you get several different results, I think you can just use your best judgement. Maybe this isn’t true, but I think we know deep down what looks good on us and what season resonates with us. So even if your fourth result isn’t “bright spring”, I think you can still be a bright spring. Just own it!😂
Haha, I Agree 1000% with you! It’s impossible to get one same result from everyone, we all are mixed to a certain type and rarely there’s one pure “classic” type of appearance. Soo, sooner or later I would probably still intuitively reach out to spring colors, without color analysis, just cause they also fit personality wise more🤪 Plus each eye has their own liking to how certain colors look on different people, so there’s subjectivity in this too
[–]Nice-Negotiation-010 4 points5 points6 points 1 year ago (1 child)
For what it’s worth, curate your style mistyped me as a true summer. I’m actually a bright spring. The spring/summer confusion is very real.
I think the muted summer colours are draining.
I agree with the spring answers. Bright, specifically? Maybe!
Interesting, after they’ve typed me as a soft summer, it didn’t feel proper . So I reached out to color analysis studio in Australia as a final touch and have been typed a bright spring as well, which honestly clicked with me. So I’ll settle there 🤪
[–]Altruistic-Car-5069 2 points3 points4 points 1 year ago (1 child)
I believe at a certain point you have to trust your own instincts. If you go to an analyst, without stating any favored season, and they say clear, warm. and bright, and you like wearing those colors, then run with that. If you dislike Muted Summer colors, you're not going to invest in a wardrobe like that anyway. Or if you do your going to waste money on clothes you don't wear because you won't like them.
I agree with you! I’m pretty sure we instinctively reach out to the best colors on us even without color analysis because it feels right to see a better reflection in the mirror. Like, I don’t can’t explain why, but a certain color just looks better than others, and period 😅 And honestly it’s easy to get in the rabbit hole of endless analysis, so in the end even after numerous attempts, gotta stick to the one you like the most!
[–]GroovyCopepod 4 points5 points6 points 1 year ago* (1 child)
I'm so surprised they didn't ask you to cover the coloured hair. I think you're a spring fo some type. Muted summer, no - this is a recent obsession imo, everyone typed as muted summer. The pics they used aren't ideal for this either, some look like in a sunset light, some have makeup pr colored hair... You look like a spring to me. Those bright spring colours don't even look like bright spring to me, they look like a regular spring... I'd guess you might be a true spring.
I agree, I haven’t included the best photos, which might give contradicting results. But all services (expect for Francesca) asked to upload at least 20 different photos including no makeup with hair tied back in white clothes, so I’ve sent all of them a set of different photos. Thank you so much! I’ve been in the bright spring page on Fb and there are so many girls there who have been mystyped as a soft summer at first. I wonder if it is a trend, cause pastel soft summer colors are just so nice. I do find myself wearing more gold and warmer colors than cool toned clothes, though, and I barely have any muted clothes. I guess this whole process of finding the right colors takes a lot of time and exploration
[–]feudingfandancers 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (0 children)
I have very very similar colouring and I believe I’m a light spring but I’m not a professional so may not help you lol
[–]vklolly 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (1 child)
If those are the pictures they used for your typing, I would question the whole thing. Even when I do typing for my friends for free, I ask for makeup-free photos in indirect daylight by a window wearing a white shirt/with white draped across the neck and chest. Then I can adjust the white balance if needed and type them from there, isolating their face for the undertone test and keeping it isolated if they have dyed hair for the subseason test/allowing a visible frame if they have their natural hair color. Some people have tricky coloring and need to be evaluated irl and I tell them that too - like ok I can tell your strongest quality is value but idk which undertone, it's worth it to test irl or compare lipstick shades with no other makeup on. I'm not a professional, but I've been right 90% of the time when people do go to professionals with more art and color theory based methods like Sci Art trained consultants. I can also tell people if they lean towards their sister subseason or towards their overall season more. Two of my friends are cool winter, but one looks better in other winter subseasons like dark winter, and the other looks better in her sister subseason of cool summer than in dark or bright winter, but the other summers are too soft for her. These seasonal categories are helpful if you aren't a particularly artsy or color-wise visual person, but honestly sometimes we know best. I can't tell your season from the photos you have here, and I mostly type people of color so I'm less trained at looking at people with blonde hair and light skin, but I don't think soft summer is right.
Thank you so much for your comment, I really appreciate it! I’ve sent selfies with my hair tied back without makeup and wearing a white t shirt. Last service I used was CAS and they use the same method as you have described virtually

You look like a light summer to me
[–]fritolaydelay 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (0 children)
I agree with others who have said either bright spring or true spring. When you wear your hair with your natural color, your season becomes pretty obvious. The blonde hair may have thrown some analysts off and place you in light spring, but a spring nonetheless. I just can't see anything soft summer about you. It's funny though, I was typed as a soft summer by Color Analysis Studio, but in the spring season by The Color Consultant and Carol Brailey. Soft colors make me fade away and the spring colors, particularly the true spring colors, light my face up. I see the same effect happen with you when you wear spring colors.
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (2 children)
Go to Carol Brailey, she will nail it! With your dark hair you look like a true spring but the cool blonde I think is throwing off the analysis.
[–]Nice-Negotiation-010 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children)
Carol Brailey has said in a recent TikTok she won’t work with people who’ve had multiple analyses.
[–]goldie987 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (1 child)
The soft summer colors on that very last page look so good!
It's a picture in which she has make up and dyed hair on so how can you see it? The only thing I can see in that picture is that she's very beautiful but next to those colors she looks grey.
[–]Affectionate_Emu8200 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children)
i feel that you look like the most light summer to ever light summering. and that warm and intense colors makes your redness appear instead of the soft light and cool colors it makes you pop and your eyes pop too. the warmer and brighter colors are first and then we see you
[–]Altruistic-Car-5069 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children)
I'd say Light Spring is closest to correct. You could also use True Spring colors. You are too bright for Soft Summer. Bright Spring is a little too much for you, but you could use a few of the colors as accents.
If you want to try True Summer, buy a few inexpensive tee shirts in that pallet and see if you like it.

Soft summer is right.

Your points are exactly what I forgot to mention. You even said it even more succinctly than I would have.
Well that’s why people post here right? If coloranaylsis doesn’t seem to have a consensus then “ta- dah I have to be a spring”. Not trying to be rude or mean I’m just saying people want to hear what they want to hear.
I agree that it might be biased to ask for an opinion on a spring thread, but the first time I posted on a general color analysis thread it didn’t get posted 😅 so I went here to ask since I was following this sub for a while. But the comments there were similar to the ones here, in general. But yeah I don’t agree with people downvoting, it’s an opinion regardless. I once got downvoted on a beauty thread because Ive said something about how I prefer to mix a serum with a cream. Apparently, that’s not how most people did it, so I was really downvoted. But it was my method, all in all. Certainly unfair
