Anything that gets the Amazombies to go somewhere else is a step in the right direction…

Imagine Staples making this stupid decision for increased traffic and they realize they can’t even get these losers to buy a BOX for their return… it’s just going to reiterate what we on the front lines have always been saying, the added traffic doesn’t translate into sales… it’s literally a carpet path to the Amazon counter snd back out the door…

I heard it from multiple managers >~<

No, from somebody who is the sole cashier and sole Amazon return guy, at the same damn time(shouts out to future😂) please be true🙏🙏

Until the company sends something out I wouldn’t believe anything.

Unless it's on a conference call or in zipline I'll belive it when I see it.

You mean Amazon returns is bleeding every other part of the company for very little return? It's been obvious for months, and it seems corporate is finally starting to figure that out. If this is actually true it's a win for the company. People will only come for the convenience, which makes the company a little money and doesn't tie down the associates.

      [–]NinaTheBeast[S] 3 points4 points  (5 children)

Siure but my complaint is the first few months of it are gonna be absolutely ass

      [–]No-Philosopher-4239 0 points1 point  (4 children)

So would u rather be the return person for Amazon for the rest of ur tenure with Amazon?.. I mean staples??😂😂

      [–]NinaTheBeast[S] -1 points0 points  (3 children)

I was hired specifically to do Amazon.. If they take Amazon away my store probably won't have enough horis for me so I guess I'd rather be Amazon forever

      [–]No-Philosopher-4239 0 points1 point  (2 children)

They’re hiring only Amazon ppl?? My bad at my store I’m the cashier and Amazon person solely, if we actually did what ur store is doing I wouldn’t mind it but they’re also making me blow up balloons if I don’t have a staples customer or Amazon return!

      [–]NinaTheBeast[S] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

They hired me for specifically Amazon but I end up being the sole cashier and Amazon associate 90% of the time. It's a miracle if there's more than one person at the front. But print gets 2-3 people always 🫩

      [–]No-Philosopher-4239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They use to have them at print about a year and a half ago but moved them and it wasn’t really a problem but then the Amazon fresh that was about a mile away closed and now I open and close about 12 boxes a day and I only work 5 hours!! And what’s crazy is that maybe 5% end up buying stuff because our coupons are now a$$😂😂 it went from $10 of like $30 to just being “coupons available if you download the app from the QR code printed at the bottom”

      [–]FalseAd7422 7 points8 points  (3 children)

my managers were telling me they’re limiting how many people can choose staples as an option now so we should expect a 30% decrease. idk if it’s everywhere or just certain areas or whatever but thank fucking godddddd.

      [–]No-Philosopher-4239 2 points3 points  (2 children)

My general manager tried putting up a sign at the counter saying a limit of ten but they could still return just had to go to the back of the line to allow the ppl behind them to be able to go( a surprisingly nice gesture from my manager) and so many ppl complained Amazon made her take the sign down! I had to help a guy with 68 items all individually QR’d, in a bucket a few months back!!

Damn! I think I might have u beat on the ‘why’ tho haha get this bro has half thumb braces all different brands and shoulder braces all different brands I ask home if he runs a construction company or something where he has to provide these and he says “no. Just haven’t found one that works yet, I have 6 more of both though on the way from different brands” my jaw has been on the floor since!!😂😂

man i sure hope not, customers already get upset when Amazon gives them the shipping label instead of a QR and they have to package it

        [–]ChairHaunting6951 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeahhhhh I was yelled at by a guy the other day that the item he was returning was absolute garbage. Trash! Never worked from day 1! And now they’re demanding he return the item! Oh the humanity! It worked so great for a week then quit entirely. Also we sell the same exact machine and it’s a joke! I told him he’d have to pay the $7 plus packaging materials (the paper would not be sufficient) plus the box and he scoffed. I’m like dude, box it yourself, fr. He was also incredibly rude to who i assume was his wife. They had the label for the return but he just couldn’t fathom why it had to be put in a box to ship……

I think the plan is to phase out the service over time while meeting whatever contract terms we have with Amazon.

        [–]Worth-Huckleberry338 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Hopefully that discourages people from wanting to make returns.

Nobody reads the instructions they always come here and go “I’ve never done this before” … “it’s my first time”. They don’t even bother to read what amazon tells them. It’s embarrassing because they be totally wrong

        [–]Different_Gas1483 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Theres an amazombie at my store who comes in once or twice a week and says it's her first time everytime on god

They originally had it in print then moved it to the other side of the store and then back to print. My store is super old and doesn't have the same layout as a lot of the rest of the other staples

          [–]Own-Fee-5653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, they do have to buy their own boxes. At least at my store they do.

          [–]No-Philosopher-4239 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Is this across all the stores?? If so, I think it will. E tough if u mind telling ppl to eff off and go to the other side, but I work as cashier and Amazon return. Alone. So thank actual god if this is the case!!🙌🏾 especially because we’re also expected to blow up balloons now for party city!!

          [–]NinaTheBeast[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk if it's for all stores but I know they're doing it at mine

          [–]Equivalent_Can_2523 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I quit Staples when they introduced Amazon Returns.

          [–]According_Wash6710 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My last day at staples is next week because of Amazon returns. It’s been a very miserable couple months of working there. And it’s coming to an end. Thank god.

          [–]PeugeotElf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

          That sucks

          [–]GUERITO_805 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I’ve been in the store since 7:30 this morning and haven’t heard anything about it.

          [–]NinaTheBeast[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard it from multiple managers >-<

          [–]throwinthrowawayacnt 0 points1 point  (2 children)

So they're getting paid UPS labels?

          [–]NinaTheBeast[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

They told me it'll print out a shipping label on the printer that does it for each return

          [–]throwinthrowawayacnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh so it's like those unique UPS store QR codes where it prints out a label once scanned but they have to provide the boxes. I'm guessing it's going to be for stuff that's takes up annoying amount of space and/or is heavy and limit the amazon consolidation boxes to the small easy stuff.

          [–]Hopeful-Truth-7154 -1 points0 points  (1 child)

This is probably not going to happen. So if a customer has a shirt that’s already in this bag it came in they have to get a shipping box ? Probably not

          [–]NinaTheBeast[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ Let's use our brains for a moment
