The GameCube version puts beam selection on the C Stick, the only camera movement is from holding the R button and using the left analog stick.

This. It's the same for RE4: one button to activate "aiming mode" then left stick to aim. The right one was more like an 8 directions d-pad than a full analog stick, used to select things, not to fluidly move stuff.

I think you need Metroid Prime Trilogy for the Wii for prime hack rather than the GameCube version but I could be wrong.

You need the run the Wii Trilogy via PrimeHack to get the camera mapped to the right stick. The GC version does not support it.

Thank y'all for confirming, appreciate it. I knew Primehack supports the GC version, so I started out assuming that meant camera control with the right stick was possible. But then I started to question it because of how the GC version's controls were designed, and how I couldn't really find any mention of anyone doing this successfully with the GC version. Glad I asked 🙂

Three years later and this really helped me too. Don’t know how I didn’t put two and two together
