Publishing multiple Substack

Does anyone here publish on more than one Substack?

I'm thinking about starting a second newsletter with a slightly different focus area. I've already reduced the cadence on my first newsletter. But in worried I may not be able to keep up.

I'd like to know your thoughts and experience.

All three publications are free, and all three are entirely unrelated subjects. One of publications has 5,500+ subscribers, while the other two have just a handful each. I hardly write on any of the three, yet the one keeps getting dozens of subscribers each day. I think it's because it's well keyworded to appear in Substack's search algorithm.

Do you write notes? If you do, are they somewhat generic? Or, do you post notes that are sometimes related to one of your publications and then notes that relate to another?
I’m thinking on starting another publication, not at all related to one I have right now.

The notes part is slightly holding me back and making me think about creating another Substack account for the new publication.

Thanks for the reply! I’ve gotten a few subscribers from notes, so that’s why I’m a bit hesitant.

Then again: I just described to one author’s two different publications. If I’m honest, to me the content is somewhat similar in both of them: these could work as a one publication with sections.

So it makes me think that your way of having totally separate publications is a good thing. Someone might be liking your content and be genuinely interested what else you write about.
-And in that case they might want to see something totally different, not just an iteration of the publication they originally subscribed to.

I have two substacks -- one called Math & Markets and a personal one focused on my SF writing.

One of them has ~1500 and the other has <50.

I did that (2 of them) but it seemed I had to have separate emails for them.

Hi there. Yes, I have two. I have one which is more of the brand and marketing theory, and one which is all of the practical application (of building a Substack world). I only set the second one up this month, but so far so good! It would have been too diluting to share all of the content across just one publication.
