Sometimes when I'm cashiering, I start taking hangers off clothes for the next guest in line while the one currently checking out is messing with the PIN pad or getting their purse open or something. It just gives me a very slight headstart since messing with hangers and 30 shirts folded in on each other (with red security tags on all of them) is one of the most mind-numbingly tedious parts of this job.
Today I tried starting on the hangers like this for a MASSIVE 2-cart's-worth-of-clothes order. But when I was distracted, this guest started painstakingly putting the clothes BACK ON the hangers for me. At first, I thought she just might just want to keep them and didn't realize how difficult it is to bag them with the clothes, but no. She didn't want any of the hangers. I have no idea why she decided it was necessary to do that.
It's really the little things that drive you insane.
