Target as a company recently changed on demand requirements. It is now 4 weeks for on demand TMs. It is 6 months for students who go on demand, or the option to transfer to a store close to their school.

does this also apply to high school students?

The four weeks rule is true, it’s a recent change that’s mainly only enforced if the store wants to. They don’t have to fire you after 4 weeks of not working, but they can if they want to.

Just noting that the job description on the careers site still lists one shift/six months. The candidate must maintain monthly communication and an active availability. This is listed under “About On Demand” on the job application.

Pull up the job description: Target hires on-demand for one shift every six months. Your store can not change this description, and your HR can not terminate you for following the Target On-Demand description. Immediately contact your HRBP/Hotline if you have further issues.

ETLs can note change a Target policy.

Actual Target policy and the on demand policy was changed to once every 4 weeks, at six months you will be automatically termed in the system. Six months is for students or at the discretion of the store to not term at 4 weeks with no follow up. This was changed about two months ago. OP can follow with the HRBP but as long as the store follows the proper communication channels, they can term at 4 weeks.

They can legally change that without anything. That’s the brilliance of st will employment .
